Edible dino nests

 Continuing with our dinosaurs topic, this week we are cooking our very own edible Dino nests. We have enjoyed melting chocolate and watching the transformation from a solid to a liquid. We have also been measuring and weighing ingredients to ensure we have equal consistency. Take a look at our cooking lesson below…






















Sight words

 We have been working hard to learn and practise writing our sight words. We enjoy using the coloured pens and writing together on large paper. Take a look at how neat our writing is….

Chinese New Year

 This week we are going to be learning about Chinese New Year. We kick started the week with a food exploration table. We got to explore the textures and smells of some food that may be eaten during the Chinese New Year celebration. We also practised our cutting and mixing skills making our own food inventions. Initial sounds

 Now that we have moved on to phase 3 sounds we have been checking our knowledge of phase initial sounds. Using the sound pots we had to find the correct objects to match our pots.










Fossils

 We have been learning about the different types of dinosaurs and what they liked to eat. We have also been learning about the history of dinosaurs and looking at fossils. Fossils were very popular so we decided to make our own salt dough fossils. Fossil pictures to follow.
